Safety Rules
Know the rules before you roll. Your safety — and the safety of others — depends on it.
Drive Safely on the Island
Obey All Traffic Laws
Golf carts are motor vehicles under Texas law. All traffic signals, signs, and laws apply — including DWI, open container, and reckless driving.
25–30 MPH on Beach Roads
Our carts reach 25–30 mph. Always observe posted speed limits and slow down in residential and beach access areas.
Beach Roads — Not Highway 361
Carts operate on beach access roads and paved streets within Port Aransas. Highway 361 is off-limits — legal crossing points exist, ask us.
All Occupants Must Be Restrained
Seatbelts are required for every passenger at all times. No lap riding, no standing. Child safety seats required per Texas law.
Zero Tolerance for Impaired Driving
Texas DWI laws apply to golf carts. No open containers. Violation may result in immediate cart repossession with no refund.
Headlights After Dark
Turn on headlights and taillights when driving after dusk. All carts are equipped with LED lights.
Keep Your Key Safe
Remove the key when parked. Never leave valuables in the cart — you are responsible for the cart and its contents during your rental.
AirTag Equipped
All carts have Apple AirTags for equipment recovery if stolen — not to track your whereabouts.
What You'll Need
Quick checklist — have these ready at pickup.
All requirements apply to additional drivers too. Everyone who may drive must have their license and insurance ready.
Where Our Carts Can't Go
Golf carts are not allowed on Highway 361, and many locations below are on the other side of the highway. Areas beyond mile marker 40 have high tides and challenging sand that increase the risk of water damage. Most golf cart rental companies in Port Aransas share this same policy.
